From “Survivorship” to “Thrivership”

Professional breast cancer recovery coaching by Cindy Land, RN/Health & Wellness Coach

Breast cancer coach, Cindy Land, works with women post treatment for breast cancer recovery. She has been in this field long enough to recognize a critical gap in the journey to full recovery: that support diminishes once treatment ends.

To fill the gap, Cindy has developed a unique and effective breast cancer coaching program focusing on helping women “get their lives back” after cancer treatment, “creating a journey forward to a new normal that feels good.”

Creating tools, mapping out a plan, providing resources and professional support for your journey forward.

Cindy’s breast cancer coaching process begins by partnering with you to design and implement an individual program that puts you back in control of your life and then promoting small steps in physical goals and mental health/relaxation goals each week that ties to your overall vision.

She does this through supported, gentle, guided coaching sessions opening up her clients’ awareness as to how to get from point A to point B – so you can decide where you want to focus your energy.

BREAST CANCER COACHING

A Step-by-Step Program to Create Positive Changes and Make Sustainable Progress

Step One

Laying the Track

Assessing & Planning

In Person | 75 Minutes

Cindy partners with you to identify and clarify your vision of health and your life moving forward. She empowers you to create specific, valuable, detailed plans for your next step in the healing process.

  • Discuss and uncover your personal goals for health and life post-recovery.

  • Prioritize goals to focus on those that will truly impact your sense of health and recovery.

  • Develop your own detailed, personalized plan for the next steps in your recovery journey.

Step Two

Getting On Track

Implementing Your Plan

6 Visits | Online & In Person

The heart of the program lies in getting on the right track to create healthy habits by implementing your personalized plan with the guidance of your professional coach. By meeting once a week, Cindy will help you use your unique vision to work toward your goals and guide you through implementing each step.

  • Vision – explore, detail and clarify your vision to focus your journey on the path you want.

  • Roadmap – taking your vision and digging deeper into the areas that would optimally support you on your path.

  • GPS – breaking down the big journey into smaller, manageable routes.

  • Navigating – assisting and supporting you, as YOU decide how and what weekly action steps make the most sense and most value for you.

  • Stepping Stones – implementing the basic foundational blocks for a solid base to grow on.

Step Three

Staying On Track

Restoring Movement & Fitness

Moving Forward | In Person

Exercise and movement are essential for full recovery so depending on your goals and the process that has unfolded, Cindy will continue to guide you.

Uncommon Movement offers several exercise and movement modalities that are perfect to address your body’s function and mobility for the long term, including Pilates, and the GYROTONIC® METHOD.

Benefits of the GYROTONIC® METHOD and Pilates for breast cancer recovery include:

  • Adhesions and lack of flexibility, tightness
    • Gentle stretching as well as active and passive mobilization of the affected area.
    • Breathwork.

  • Reinstating arm and shoulder range of motion
    • Moving these areas as soon as possible in order to avoid encystment of joints and possible ‘frozen shoulder.’
    • Recovery of full respiratory function.

  • Lymphoedema
    • Movement and the contraction of the muscles to help drain the lymphatic system.

  • Muscle weakness and posture
    • Work the spine as the main axis to strengthen the rest of the body.
    • Muscle strengthening to prevent premature osteoporosis due to hormonal changes.
    • Increase muscle mass, strength and endurance.

  • Address psychological needs
    • Being physically active is very empowering and necessary for moving forward in your health journey.
    • Community and learning new things facilitates the process of healing through social and mental engagement.

RN/Health & Wellness Coach, BCB-PMD

Cindy has devoted her life to women’s health. Over the years working with hundreds of clients, she’s recognized that the medical focus on survival has left a significant gap in women’s long term health as support for breast cancer patients dramatically diminishes once treatment ends.

To address the gap, Cindy works with women post treatment for breast cancer recovery, helping you “get your life back” after cancer and creating a journey forward to “a new normal that feels good.”
